The cup is captured
When Peter Lawrence discovered that, at the end of the summer term 2018, Haslemere Preparatory School was to close, he set about recovering the cup his father had presented to the school on behalf of his elder son Anthony in July 1963. The cup is called ‘Lawrence House’ and was presented at the end of every academic year to the boy who showed the most improvement.
Cup retrieved, a plan was then hatched between brothers Anthony and Peter to put the cup to good use going forward by staging an annual family competion. Each year, senior and junior champion medals are awarded to the two best performers in events as various as egg and spoon race, build a teepee, design a cocktail, quickest to demolish a hanging doughnut etc. The challenges can be anything within reason.
