2023 – The Lawrence Cup

Once again The Family congregated at Gairholm, Peter and Sally’s home in The Sands for the annual battle for The Lawrence Cup.

The gathering was made of the following:

The Sands – Peter and Sally and daughter Juliet with boyfriend Jack

Alfold – Simon

London – Tanya and soon to be husband Ravi

Worplesdon – Sue and Anthony

Upper Farringdon – Antonia and Daryl with children Tiana and Isaac

Southampton – Jack and Heloise with sons Ivo and Ludo

Bodmin – Sue

Jamaica Plain USA – Hannah with daughters Brighid and Sylvie

Bristol – Amy and Adam with children Alfie, Sofia and Orla

Welton, Daventry – Matthew

Motherwell, Lanark – Heather with daughters Isobel and Kathleen. Joined by Tam

Frome – Claire McCadden and son Otis

A soggy day out but the weather did not dampen this year’s shenanigans. There were teepees constructed in the pine forest, sheep jumps over hay bales on space hoppers, a water fight with raging dinosaurs and intrepid balancing blindfolded across a treacherous water hazaard.

It was wonderful to welcome Hannah and family back from America. Hannah did not disappoint. As ever in the middle of the fray on a space hopper in pursuit of raging dinosaurs. With a new generation now numbering 14, 12 of whom were present this year, the adults will soon be outnumbered. Myvanwy, Joe and children Scarlett and Romy could not be with us this year and were sorely missed. We were also sad that Megan, Mark and Evelyn Kay were called away at the eleventh hour to support a family member and friends respectively.
